Best Cleaning Tools
The most important aspect of keeping LVT flooring in pristine condition is to keep it free of dirt and small rocks. LVT flooring is durable but not immune to scratches. It is important to never drag anything rough across the floor surface. This includes mops with abrasive scrubbers.
To keep your LVT flooring in good shape you will want these cleaning tools:
- Vacuum
- Broom
- Swiffer or
- Microfiber Mop
DO NOT – Use steam as a cleaning method. This can damage your flooring.
Step-by-Step Process for Cleaning LVT Flooring
- Clear the floor of any objects (chairs, trash cans etc.) that may get in the way of cleaning.
- Use a vacuum or broom to remove larger particles of dirt, small rocks or spilt food.
- Fill a bucket with warm water and your choice of cleaner. Or fill your microfiber spray mop with cleaning solution.
- Start on one side of the room and damp mop your way across the floor. Do not use excessive amounts of water/cleaning solution. LVT flooring is waterproof but it is unnecessary to use large amounts of water when mopping.
We have had our LVT flooring for over two years and love it. It’s very easy to maintain and always looks great (even when we don’t get around to vacuuming or mopping).
Happy Cleaning!
