Are you fighting off mice, spiders, bugs or other small pests? If so, sticky glue traps may be the perfect solution to your pest problem. We have found success with one particular brand called Catchmaster that we consider the best glue trap for mice.
What are Sticky Glue Traps?
Glue traps have a sturdy design with a super sticky adhesive on one side. All you have to do is peel the film off to expose the adhesive and then place it in a discreet place with mice traffic. Glue traps are safe and non-toxic. These traps can last up to one full year when not exposed to extreme conditions.
Glue traps often have a scented adhesive to attract mice. In addition to the scented adhesive, I have baited the traps with a little peanut butter, popcorn or other snack for extra attraction. It can’t hurt, right? Catchmaster glue boards are peanut butter scented but non-allergenic.
Glue traps are an easy and inexpensive trap option. You can get over 70 traps for under $30! They are also very good at catching bugs and spiders as an extra bonus!
How Do Sticky Glue Traps Work?
The Catchmaster pest glue traps are easy to place. All you have to do is simply put the traps against walls or along pathways with mouse activity. These traps can be used indoors in residential, commercial, or industrial buildings, and sensitive areas where rodenticides or snap traps are undesirable.
To use the trap, fold along lengthwise perforation and place against a wall to maximize catch potential. If using in a dusty environment, fold to create a tunnel. Leave the trap with the release paper on in the rodent’s environment for a day or two before removing the release paper. This will allow the rodent to get acclimated.
Glue Trap Tips and Tricks
- Place several traps in multiple locations. Rodents will investigate their surroundings so this naturally increases your likelihood of a catch.
- For best use, leave trap with paper on so pests can acclimate to the trap, then place glue boards along known or suspected rodent pathways.
- Rodents are fickle creatures – if you aren’t having success trapping in one area move the trap to a different location every few days.
